Manuscript and correspondence, 1947-1968, n.d.

Armour materials comprise a signed holograph fair copy of his poem COWS, cataloged under his name, in addition to the following: The Christopher Morley collection contains one letter from Armour (1947 Sept. 21, 1 p.) which encloses a typescript copy of Armour's review of Morley's THE OLD MANDARIN, to be published in THE WORLD IN BOOKS, and defines himself as "especially fond of Morley the essayist." He goes on to comment that he joined Wells College about a year after Morley had visited the campus, and that he has had dealings with bookseller Ben Abrahamson. The Ogden Nash collection contains two memoranda from Armour, 1968 July 29 (1 p.) and 1968 Oct. 16 (1 p.). The former conveys thanks for an unidentified foreword Nash wrote, while the latter regards a review Armour has written on one of Nash's works for the LOS ANGELES TIMES and the lack of space to do it justice. The Margaret Cousins papers contain an exchange of letters. Armour writes (1961 Dec. 14, 1 p.) thanking Cousins for a Christmas book and for her role in McCall's purchase of ARMOUR'S ALMANAC, and comments on her leaving McCall's for Doubleday and sales of his updated edition of IT ALL STARTED WITH COLUMBUS. Cousins' response (1961 Dec. 21, 1 p.) comments on her fascination with her new job.
